Rig Veda 1.100.8

तम॑प्सन्त॒ शव॑स उत्स॒वेषु॒ नरो॒ नर॒मव॑से॒ तं धना॑य । सो अ॒न्धे चि॒त्तम॑सि॒ ज्योति॑र्विदन्म॒रुत्वा॑न्नो भव॒त्विन्द्र॑ ऊ॒ती ॥
तमप्सन्त शवस उत्सवेषु नरो नरमवसे तं धनाय । सो अन्धे चित्तमसि ज्योतिर्विदन्मरुत्वान्नो भवत्विन्द्र ऊती ॥
tam apsanta śavasa utsaveṣu naro naram avase taṃ dhanāya | so andhe cit tamasi jyotir vidan marutvān no bhavatv indra ūtī ||

English translation:

“To him, a leader (to victory), his worshippers apply in contests of strength for protection and for wealth, as he grants them the light (of conquest) in the bewildering darkness (of battle); may Indra, associated with the Maruts, be our protection.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
