वि॒शां गो॒पा अ॑स्य चरन्ति ज॒न्तवो॑ द्वि॒पच्च॒ यदु॒त चतु॑ष्पद॒क्तुभि॑: । चि॒त्रः प्र॑के॒त उ॒षसो॑ म॒हाँ अ॒स्यग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥
विशां गोपा अस्य चरन्ति जन्तवो द्विपच्च यदुत चतुष्पदक्तुभिः । चित्रः प्रकेत उषसो महाँ अस्यग्ने सख्ये मा रिषामा वयं तव ॥
viśāṃ gopā asya caranti jantavo dvipac ca yad uta catuṣpad aktubhiḥ | citraḥ praketa uṣaso mahām̐ asy agne sakhye mā riṣāmā vayaṃ tava ||
English translation:
“His genitive al (flames), the preservers of mankind, spread around, and both bipeds and quadrupeds are enlivened by his rays; shining with various lustre, and illuminating (the world by night), you are superior to the dawn; let us not, Agni, suffer injury through your friendship.”
