पुन॑:पुन॒र्जाय॑माना पुरा॒णी स॑मा॒नं वर्ण॑म॒भि शुम्भ॑माना । श्व॒घ्नीव॑ कृ॒त्नुर्विज॑ आमिना॒ना मर्त॑स्य दे॒वी ज॒रय॒न्त्यायु॑: ॥
पुनःपुनर्जायमाना पुराणी समानं वर्णमभि शुम्भमाना । श्वघ्नीव कृत्नुर्विज आमिनाना मर्तस्य देवी जरयन्त्यायुः ॥
punaḥ-punar jāyamānā purāṇī samānaṃ varṇam abhi śumbhamānā | śvaghnīva kṛtnur vija āminānā martasya devī jarayanty āyuḥ ||
English translation:
“The divine and ancient Uṣas, born again and again and bright with unchanging hues, wastes away the life of a mortal, like the wife of a hunter cutting up and dividing the birds.”
