Rig Veda 1.67.1
Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:
वने॑षु जा॒युर्मर्ते॑षु मि॒त्रो वृ॑णी॒ते श्रु॒ष्टिं राजे॑वाजु॒र्यम् ॥
वनेषु जायुर्मर्तेषु मित्रो वृणीते श्रुष्टिं राजेवाजुर्यम् ॥
vaneṣu jāyur marteṣu mitro vṛṇīte śruṣṭiṃ rājevājuryam ||
English translation:
“[1-2] Born in the woods, the friend of man, Agni protects his worshipper, as a rājā favours an able man; kind as a defender, prosperous as a performer of (good) works, may he, the invoker of the gods, the bearer of oblations, be propitious.”
