विश्व॑मस्या नानाम॒ चक्ष॑से॒ जग॒ज्ज्योति॑ष्कृणोति सू॒नरी॑ । अप॒ द्वेषो॑ म॒घोनी॑ दुहि॒ता दि॒व उ॒षा उ॑च्छ॒दप॒ स्रिध॑: ॥
विश्वमस्या नानाम चक्षसे जगज्ज्योतिष्कृणोति सूनरी । अप द्वेषो मघोनी दुहिता दिव उषा उच्छदप स्रिधः ॥
viśvam asyā nānāma cakṣase jagaj jyotiṣ kṛṇoti sūnarī | apa dveṣo maghonī duhitā diva uṣā ucchad apa sridhaḥ ||
English translation:
“All living beings adore her, that she may be visible; bringer of good, she lights up the world; the affluent daughter of heaven drives away the malevolent and disperses the absorbers (of moisture).”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Sridhaḥ: śoṣayitṛn = the driers up; an allusion to the clouds which take up the dew of night?
