Rig Veda 1.34.1

त्रिश्चि॑न्नो अ॒द्या भ॑वतं नवेदसा वि॒भुर्वां॒ याम॑ उ॒त रा॒तिर॑श्विना । यु॒वोर्हि य॒न्त्रं हि॒म्येव॒ वास॑सोऽभ्यायं॒सेन्या॑ भवतं मनी॒षिभि॑: ॥
त्रिश्चिन्नो अद्या भवतं नवेदसा विभुर्वां याम उत रातिरश्विना । युवोर्हि यन्त्रं हिम्येव वाससोऽभ्यायंसेन्या भवतं मनीषिभिः ॥
triś cin no adyā bhavataṃ navedasā vibhur vāṃ yāma uta rātir aśvinā | yuvor hi yantraṃ himyeva vāsaso 'bhyāyaṃsenyā bhavatam manīṣibhiḥ ||

English translation:

“Wise Aśvins, be present with us thrice today; vast is your vehicle, as well as your munificence; your union is like that of the shining (day) and dewy (night); (suffer yourselves) to be detained by the learned (priests).”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Allusion to three diurnal sacrifices, at dawn, mid-day and sunset;  all divinities are tripthagāḥ, with the faculty to go through the heavens, the firmament and the earth
