नि ष्वा॑पया मिथू॒दृशा॑ स॒स्तामबु॑ध्यमाने । आ तू न॑ इन्द्र शंसय॒ गोष्वश्वे॑षु शु॒भ्रिषु॑ स॒हस्रे॑षु तुवीमघ ॥
नि ष्वापया मिथूदृशा सस्तामबुध्यमाने । आ तू न इन्द्र शंसय गोष्वश्वेषु शुभ्रिषु सहस्रेषु तुवीमघ ॥
ni ṣvāpayā mithūdṛśā sastām abudhyamāne | ā tū na indra śaṃsaya goṣv aśveṣu śubhriṣu sahasreṣu tuvīmagha ||
English translation:
“Cast asleep (the two feminine le messengers of Yama); looking at each other, let them sleep, never waking; Indra, of boundless wealth, enrich us with thousands of excellent cows and horses.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Lit. 'Put to sleep the two reciprocally looking; let them sleep, not being awakened'. two epithets are to yamadutyau, two feminine le messengers of Yama;
Mithudṛśā = mithunatayā yugala rūpeṇa paśyataḥ, looking after the manner of twins, at each other
