Rig Veda 1.24.3

Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:

अ॒भि त्वा॑ देव सवित॒रीशा॑नं॒ वार्या॑णाम् । सदा॑वन्भा॒गमी॑महे ॥
अभि त्वा देव सवितरीशानं वार्याणाम् । सदावन्भागमीमहे ॥
abhi tvā deva savitar īśānaṃ vāryāṇām | sadāvan bhāgam īmahe ||

English translation:

“Ever-protecting Savitā, we solicit (our) portion of you, who are the lord of affluence.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

In this and the following two hymns, an appeal is made to Savitā (by the advice of Agni), not for liberation, but for riches
