Rig Veda 1.6.2
Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:
यु॒ञ्जन्त्य॑स्य॒ काम्या॒ हरी॒ विप॑क्षसा॒ रथे॑ । शोणा॑ धृ॒ष्णू नृ॒वाह॑सा ॥
युञ्जन्त्यस्य काम्या हरी विपक्षसा रथे । शोणा धृष्णू नृवाहसा ॥
yuñjanty asya kāmyā harī vipakṣasā rathe | śoṇā dhṛṣṇū nṛvāhasā ||
English translation:
“They (the charioteers) harness to his car his two desirable coursers, plural ced on either hand, bay coloured, high-spirited, chief-bearing.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Horses of Indra are called hari (Nirukta 1.15.1), perhaps, of yellow colour;
Śoṇā = crimson colour;
Vipakṣasā = harnessed on different sides (of the chariot or pole (?)
