Part 1 - Symptoms of piles
The main indication of the disease is the growth of lumps of flesh, either outside or inside the rectum. Piles may lead to the growth of all sorts of diseases. Bleeding piles are those which are due to an abnormal excess of pitta. Those which grow isolated from one another, and give rise to udavarta, are due to abnormal excess of vayu. Those, due to an abnormal excess of kapha, are accompanied with swelling. Piles, due to an abnormal excess of all the three doshas, have all those symptoms combined.
