Treatment for fever (122): Vatapittantaka rasa

Equal quantities of mercury, sulphur, mica, musta poison, copper, iron, copper pyrites, and orpiment are to be rubbed together, and subjected to bhavana for one day, each, with the juices of jastimadhu, grapes, guruchi, amalaki, shatabari and tuber of bidari. Pills are then to be made six raktis in weight, each. Accompaniment, sugar and honey. This medicine cures fever due to an excess of vayu and pitta, consumption, sensation of heat, thirst, giddiness, and dropsy. Decoction of jastimadhu, mixed with sugar, is to be drunk, a little after taking this medicine.
