Treatment for fever (49): Mrityu-vighatana rasa

One part of mercury and one part of sulphur are to be rubbed together, and made into a kajjali or black powder, with which is to be mixed one part each of the following:—mica, iron, copper, aconite, orpiment, cowri shell, realgar, cinnabar, root of chitraka, root of hasti-shundi, atibisha and trikatu. Then rub the compound for three days each with the juice or decoction of ginger, nirgundi leaves, and leaves of bhanga Then put it inside a glass bottle and heat it by Baluka-yantra for six hours. When cooled, the product is to be taken out, rubbed with ginger juice and made into pills, one rakti in weight, each. It cures even a dying man attacked with a fever due to an excess of the three doshas.
