Part 1 - Characteristics of Zinc (yasoda)

Yasoda is the essence of rasaka or calamine (see page 125, Vol II). Literally, it means a thing which helps the earning of fame. It is really a thing which enables a learned physician to earn reputation.

Its properties.

Yasoda is astringent, bitter, cool, pacifier of kapha and pitta, beneficial to eye-sight, and destroyer of spermatorrhoea, gonorrhoea, jaundice, and asthma.
