The Sanskrit edition of the Panchatantra referencing the English translation and grammatical analysis. Written by Vishnu Sharma and possibly dating as early as 1200 BCE, the Panchatantra (or Pancatantra) represents a collection of short stories teaching basic ethical values and moral conduct that was commonly practiced in ancient Indian. क्षुत्-क्षामो ऽत्र वने भ्रमामि शिशुकैस् त्यक्तः समं भार्यया यच् चान्यन् न कृतं कृतान्त कुरुते तच् चापि सह्यं मया ॥ १९५ ॥
