तद् विपरीतसम्योगविभागकारणं कर्मापक्षेपणम् ॥ १४० ॥

tad viparītasamyogavibhāgakāraṇaṃ karmāpakṣepaṇam || 140 ||

Text (140): That action which brings about conjunctions and, disjunctions in directions other than those just mentioned, is Throwing Downward.—(I-ii-9).

Commentary: The Nyāyakandalī of Śrīdhara.

Throwing Downward brings about conjunction with lower things and Disjunction from lower things.
