Text 35: Introductory

इहेदानीमेकैकशो वैधर्म्यमुच्यते ॥ ३५ ॥
ihedānīmekaikaśo vaidharmyamucyate || 35 ||
Text (35):—We now proceed to describe the dissimilarities or distinctive features of each one(of the substances).

What we have finished above is the description of the point of dissimilarity of two or more things from other sets of two or more things; in this chapter we are going to point out the distinctive features of each one of the substances. The ‘śas’ affix in the expression ekaikaśa [ekaikaśaḥ]’ makes the repetition of the word ‘eka’ indicative of the inclusion of many things.
