This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

एषोद्दालकचित्तवृत्तिकलनावल्ली विवेकस्फुरत्स्वानन्दप्रविकासभासिकुसुमा हृत्कानने विस्तृते ।
रूढा यस्य कदाचिदेव विलसद्रम्येव सच्छायया नासावेति वियोगमेति च फलेनोच्चैस्तरां सङ्गमम् ॥ २९ ॥
