This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

नैवाहमस्मि न च नाम जगन्ति सन्ति सर्वं च विद्यत इदं ननु निर्विकारम् ।
विज्ञानमात्रमवभासत एव शान्तं नासन्न सज्जगदहं च सदेति विद्धि ॥ ३२ ॥

naivāhamasmi na ca nāma jaganti santi sarvaṃ ca vidyata idaṃ nanu nirvikāram |
vijñānamātramavabhāsata eva śāntaṃ nāsanna sajjagadahaṃ ca sadeti viddhi || 32 ||
