This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

Verse 4.21.29

अपर्यवसानदेशकालवति चित्रा हि जगति युक्तयो दृश्यन्ते । एताश्च युक्तीर्नासावात्मा यत्नेन रचयति । न हि समुद्रः प्रयत्नेन तरङ्गरचनां करोति । न चोत्पन्नास्तिरस्करोति सागर इव वीचीः ॥ २९ ॥
