This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

यदेतत्कर्तृत्वं भोक्तृत्वं चास्याध्यारोप्यते । अवश्यकं तदसम्यग्दर्शनमोहात् न वस्तुत इति । यथाभूतवस्तुविचारणात्कर्तृत्वभोक्तृत्वे न स्तः । इन्द्रियेन्द्रियार्थद्वेषाभिलाषादिका दृष्टयस्तद्दृष्टीनां दृश्यन्ते नातद्दृष्टीनाम् ॥ २० ॥
