This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

Verse 4.19.13

गत्वा सुदूरमपि यत्नवता जनेन नासाद्यते तदिह येन सुपूर्णतेति ।
मत्वेति सन्त्यज पदार्थगणं धिया त्वं तत्त्वं स्वमेव परमार्थतया चिदात्मा ॥ १३ ॥

gatvā sudūramapi yatnavatā janena nāsādyate tadiha yena supūrṇateti |
matveti santyaja padārthagaṇaṃ dhiyā tvaṃ tattvaṃ svameva paramārthatayā cidātmā || 13 ||
