This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

जगदनन्त्यवर्णनं नाम सर्गः ।
षड्विंशत्युत्तरशततमः सर्गः ।
वसिष्ठः ।
इन्द्रियग्रामसङ्ग्रामसेतुना भवसागरः ।
तीर्यते नेतरेणेह केनचिन्नाम कर्मणा ॥ १ ॥ शास्त्रसत्सङ्गमाभ्यासैः सविवेको जितेन्द्रियः ।
अत्यन्ताभावमेवास्य दृश्यौघस्यावगच्छति ॥ २ ॥
