This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

दिशि दिशि हरिणाक्षीमेव पश्यामि राजन्प्रिययुवतिमनस्त्वान्नित्यमानन्दितोऽस्मि ।
तव सुखविकृतीनां यत्फलं दुःखदायि क्षणमथ सुचिरं वा तन्न पश्यामि किञ्चित् ॥ ४६ ॥

diśi diśi hariṇākṣīmeva paśyāmi rājanpriyayuvatimanastvānnityamānandito'smi |
tava sukhavikṛtīnāṃ yatphalaṃ duḥkhadāyi kṣaṇamatha suciraṃ vā tanna paśyāmi kiñcit || 46 ||
