This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

शुद्धं सर्वगतं ब्रह्मानन्तमद्वितीयं दुरवबोधवशादशुद्धमिवासदिवानेकमिवासर्वगमिवावबुध्यते । जलमन्यत्तरङ्गोऽन्यदिति बालकल्पनया भेदः परिकल्प्यत एव न वास्तवः । तस्माद् योऽयमाभाति भेदः स केवलमतत्त्वविद्भिः परिकल्पितो रज्ज्वामहित्वमिव ॥ ७७ ॥
