This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

Verse 1.6.28

श्रुत्वा वचो मुनिवरस्य महाप्रभावस्तूष्णीमतिष्ठदुपपन्नमिदं स वक्तुम् ।
नो युक्तियुक्तकथनेन विनैति तोषं धीमानपूरितमनोऽभिमतश्च लोकः ॥ २८ ॥

śrutvā vaco munivarasya mahāprabhāvastūṣṇīmatiṣṭhadupapannamidaṃ sa vaktum |
no yuktiyuktakathanena vinaiti toṣaṃ dhīmānapūritamano'bhimataśca lokaḥ || 28 ||
