Verse 11.71 [Special Expiation for Special Offences: (a) For Killing a Brāhmaṇa]

एतान्येनांसि सर्वाणि यथोक्तानि पृथक् पृथक् ।
यैर्यैर्व्रतैरपोह्यन्ते तानि सम्यग् निबोधत ॥ ७१ ॥etānyenāṃsi sarvāṇi yathoktāni pṛthak pṛthak |
yairyairvratairapohyante tāni samyag nibodhata || 71 ||Learn properly now those penances b y which all these offences, severally described, become expiated.—(71)
Medhātithi’s commentary (manubhāṣya):
The occasions for expiation have been described. Each of them has been given a distinct name for the purpose of pointing out the expiatory rite suitable to each.
