Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. जघानास्य पदा सूतमसिनापातयद्ध्वजम् ।
विक्षोभ्याम्भोनिधिं तार्क्ष्यस्तं नागमिव चाक्षिपत् ॥ ५४ ॥

jaghānāsya padā sūtamasināpātayaddhvajam |
vikṣobhyāmbhonidhiṃ tārkṣyastaṃ nāgamiva cākṣipat || 54 ||
