Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. रथिनः सादिनश्चैव नागानश्वान्पदातिनः ।
रौद्रा हस्तवता मुक्ताः प्रमथ्नन्ति स्म सायकाः ॥ ४ ॥

rathinaḥ sādinaścaiva nāgānaśvānpadātinaḥ |
raudrā hastavatā muktāḥ pramathnanti sma sāyakāḥ || 4 ||
