Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. अश्वानग्र्यान्पाण्डुराभ्रप्रकाशान्पुष्टान्स्नातान्मन्त्रपूताभिरद्भिः ।
तप्तैर्भाण्डैः काञ्चनैरभ्युपेताञ्शीघ्राञ्शीघ्रं सूतपुत्रानयस्व ॥ २६ ॥
