Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ते शरार्ता महाराज विप्रकीर्णरथध्वजाः ।
नाभ्यवर्तन्त राजानः सहिता वानरध्वजम् ॥ ११४ ॥

te śarārtā mahārāja viprakīrṇarathadhvajāḥ |
nābhyavartanta rājānaḥ sahitā vānaradhvajam || 114 ||
