Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततः पौरा महाराज माता काली च मे शुभा ।
भृत्याः पुरोहिताचार्या ब्राह्मणाश्च बहुश्रुताः ।
मामूचुर्भृशसंतप्ता भव राजेति संततम् ॥ २९ ॥

tataḥ paurā mahārāja mātā kālī ca me śubhā |
bhṛtyāḥ purohitācāryā brāhmaṇāśca bahuśrutāḥ |
māmūcurbhṛśasaṃtaptā bhava rājeti saṃtatam || 29 ||
