Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. विदितौ हि तवात्यन्तं क्रुद्धाविव यमान्तकौ ।
भीमार्जुनौ नयेतां हि देवानपि परां गतिम् ॥ २० ॥

viditau hi tavātyantaṃ kruddhāviva yamāntakau |
bhīmārjunau nayetāṃ hi devānapi parāṃ gatim || 20 ||
