Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. एकेनापि पतत्यह्ना योजनानि चतुर्दश ।
यानमश्वतरीयुक्तं दास्ये तस्मै तदप्यहम् ॥ १२ ॥

ekenāpi patatyahnā yojanāni caturdaśa |
yānamaśvatarīyuktaṃ dāsye tasmai tadapyaham || 12 ||
