Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तस्य पूजार्थमद्यैव संविधत्स्व परंतप ।
सभाः पथि विधीयन्तां सर्वकामसमाहिताः ॥ ९ ॥

tasya pūjārthamadyaiva saṃvidhatsva paraṃtapa |
sabhāḥ pathi vidhīyantāṃ sarvakāmasamāhitāḥ || 9 ||
