Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तैरयुद्धं साधु मन्ये कुरवस्तन्निबोधत ।
युद्धे विनाशः कृत्स्नस्य कुलस्य भविता ध्रुवम् ॥ १४ ॥

tairayuddhaṃ sādhu manye kuravastannibodhata |
yuddhe vināśaḥ kṛtsnasya kulasya bhavitā dhruvam || 14 ||
