Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. यस्तात न क्रुध्यति सर्वकालं भृत्यस्य भक्तस्य हिते रतस्य ।
तस्मिन्भृत्या भर्तरि विश्वसन्ति न चैनमापत्सु परित्यजन्ति ॥ २० ॥
