Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. एत एवासयस्तीक्ष्णाः कृन्तन्त्यायूंषि देहिनाम् ।
एतानि मानवान्घ्नन्ति न मृत्युर्भद्रमस्तु ते ॥ १० ॥

eta evāsayastīkṣṇāḥ kṛntantyāyūṃṣi dehinām |
etāni mānavānghnanti na mṛtyurbhadramastu te || 10 ||
