Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. Verse 5.26.27

जानासि त्वं क्लेशमस्मासु वृत्तं त्वां पूजयन्संजयाहं क्षमेयम् ।
यच्चास्माकं कौरवैर्भूतपूर्वं या नो वृत्तिर्धार्तराष्ट्रे तदासीत् ॥ २७ ॥

jānāsi tvaṃ kleśamasmāsu vṛttaṃ tvāṃ pūjayansaṃjayāhaṃ kṣameyam |
yaccāsmākaṃ kauravairbhūtapūrvaṃ yā no vṛttirdhārtarāṣṭre tadāsīt || 27 ||
