Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. न ह्यपश्यं कंचिदहं पृथिव्यां श्रुतं समं वाधिकमर्जुनेन ।
यस्यैकषष्टिर्निशितास्तीक्ष्णधाराः सुवाससः संमतो हस्तवापः ॥ २१ ॥

na hyapaśyaṃ kaṃcidahaṃ pṛthivyāṃ śrutaṃ samaṃ vādhikamarjunena |
yasyaikaṣaṣṭirniśitāstīkṣṇadhārāḥ suvāsasaḥ saṃmato hastavāpaḥ || 21 ||
