Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. Verse 5.22.31

नो चेद्गच्छेत्संगरं मन्दबुद्धिस्ताभ्यां सुतो मे विपरीतचेताः ।
नो चेत्कुरून्संजय निर्दहेतामिन्द्राविष्णू दैत्यसेनां यथैव ।
मतो हि मे शक्रसमो धनंजयः सनातनो वृष्णिवीरश्च विष्णुः ॥ ३१ ॥

no cedgacchetsaṃgaraṃ mandabuddhistābhyāṃ suto me viparītacetāḥ |
no cetkurūnsaṃjaya nirdahetāmindrāviṣṇū daityasenāṃ yathaiva |
mato hi me śakrasamo dhanaṃjayaḥ sanātano vṛṣṇivīraśca viṣṇuḥ || 31 ||
