Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. सोऽहमेवं चरिष्यामि प्रीतिरत्र हि मे सदा ।
न च मां वेत्स्यति परस्तत्ते रोचतु पार्थिव ॥ ११ ॥

so'hamevaṃ cariṣyāmi prītiratra hi me sadā |
na ca māṃ vetsyati parastatte rocatu pārthiva || 11 ||
