Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. दुर्वृत्तानां संहरति वृत्तस्थानां प्रयच्छति ।
अनुशास्ति च भूतानि कार्येषु बलसूदनः ॥ १० ॥

durvṛttānāṃ saṃharati vṛttasthānāṃ prayacchati |
anuśāsti ca bhūtāni kāryeṣu balasūdanaḥ || 10 ||
