Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. This portion also contains the Bhagavad-Gita. Alternative titles: Mahābhārata (महाभारत).

मनसा निश्चित्य मासि पूर्णे शिष्यमब्रवीत् ।
गच्छात्रेय ।
राजानं ब्रूहि ।
यदि पर्याप्तं निर्यातयोपाध्यायवाम्याविति ॥ ५५ ॥

gacchātreya |
rājānaṃ brūhi |
