Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. अग्निश्च वडवावक्त्रो भूत्वाहं द्विजसत्तम ।
पिबाम्यपः समाविद्धास्ताश्चैव विसृजाम्यहम् ॥ १२ ॥

agniśca vaḍavāvaktro bhūtvāhaṃ dvijasattama |
pibāmyapaḥ samāviddhāstāścaiva visṛjāmyaham || 12 ||
