Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततस्तदाज्ञाय मतं महात्मा तेषां स धर्मस्य सुतो वरिष्ठः ।
प्रदक्षिणं वैश्रवणाधिवासं चकार धर्मार्थविदुत्तमौजः ॥ १७ ॥

tatastadājñāya mataṃ mahātmā teṣāṃ sa dharmasya suto variṣṭhaḥ |
pradakṣiṇaṃ vaiśravaṇādhivāsaṃ cakāra dharmārthaviduttamaujaḥ || 17 ||
