Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. चमूं विगाह्य शत्रूणां शरशक्तिसमाकुलाम् ।
यदा सिंहरवं वीर करिष्यसि महाबल ।
तदाहं बृंहयिष्यामि स्वरवेण रवं तव ॥ १४ ॥

yadā siṃharavaṃ vīra kariṣyasi mahābala |
