Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. येषां तथा राम समारभन्ते कार्याणि नाथाः स्वमतेन लोके ।
ते नाथवन्तः पुरुषप्रवीरा नानाथवत्कृच्छ्रमवाप्नुवन्ति ॥ ३ ॥

yeṣāṃ tathā rāma samārabhante kāryāṇi nāthāḥ svamatena loke |
