Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततो वसूनां वसुधाधिपः स मरुद्गणानां च तथाश्विनोश्च ।
वैवस्वतादित्यधनेश्वराणामिन्द्रस्य विष्णोः सवितुर्विभोश्च ॥ ११ ॥

tato vasūnāṃ vasudhādhipaḥ sa marudgaṇānāṃ ca tathāśvinośca |
