Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. यथा वनं माधवमासि मध्ये समीरितं श्वसनेनाभिवाति ।
तथा स वात्युत्तमपुण्यगन्धी निषेव्यमाणः पवनेन तात ॥ ८ ॥
