Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तेन वज्रेण वै वृत्रं वधिष्यति शतक्रतुः ।
एतद्वः सर्वमाख्यातं तस्माच्छीघ्रं विधीयताम् ॥ ११ ॥

tena vajreṇa vai vṛtraṃ vadhiṣyati śatakratuḥ |
etadvaḥ sarvamākhyātaṃ tasmācchīghraṃ vidhīyatām || 11 ||
